In late October, the Washington Post reported that the statue of Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville, VA — which attracted the support of white supremacists at the deadly 2017 Unite the Right rally — had been destroyed. According to the Post, the statue was melted down in an unidentified foundry and made into bronze ingots.
