Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st District, is preparing for her June 11 primary by tying her reelection prospects to former president Donald Trump. Mace even defended him during a viral interview segment with George Stephanopoulos, where she falsely said that Trump wasn’t found civilly liable for rape.

And, in another sign that Mace is attempting to ingratiate herself to Trump and his bigoted base, she praised Trump ally Laura Loomer as a “patriot,” and said it would be a “huge honor” to receive a campaign donation from her.

Laura Loomer is a white nationalist conspiracy theorist and self-declared “proud Islamophobe” who has attended and spoken at white supremacist conferences. She’s spread conspiracies about mass shootings, claimed during a racist rant that she “believe[s] in IQ science,” and called Haitians “barbarians” from a “cursed shithole nation.”

She also blamed “rich Jews” for “trying to destroy America,” and teamed up with antisemites to produce a propaganda piece on the white supremacist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory.

But Rep. Nancy Mace appeared ecstatic to be a guest on Loomer’s Rumble show, Loomer Unleashed.

Loomer said it was “really great” that Mace endorsed Trump for president, especially since she once called for him to be held accountable over Jan. 6. When Loomer asked her to explain her “change of heart,” Mace explained that Americans were “safer” and “more prosperous” when Trump was president.

“So for me, this was a really easy call,” Mace said. “And people in my district — again, this is [a] very purpleish swing district — they don’t talk about J6, they talk about February 22 when Laken Riley was murdered. They talk about October when Maddie Hines was murdered, and was killed in South Carolina.”

Laken Riley was a 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student murdered by an undocumented immigrant while she was jogging. Maddie Hines was a 3-year-old killed in a car accident by a driver who was later charged with reckless homicide and not having a driver’s license.

“I’ll just say a few of the things that I really admire about Nancy Mace is that 1) she was one of the only Republicans that had the balls to vote against [former House Speaker] Kevin McCarthy, okay? To motion to vacate,” Loomer said.

“So you were viciously attacked by that, and I understand now that you have an opponent, and there’s some speculation about whether Kevin McCarthy is the one that’s pumping money into your opponent’s race, right?” she added. “I don’t know if you can confirm or deny that.”

“He absolutely is,” Mace claimed. “He absolutely is the one that handpicked her. Fortunately or unfortunately for him, he didn’t vet her. So we are going to make sure we lose the primary we don’t win this seat in the general election in November.”

Loomer then told Mace that “Loomer Unleashed will be helping” to “expose” her primary opponent. “Your opponent will be getting Loomered,” she assured her.

Loomer implored her audience to donate whatever they’re able to Mace’s campaign. She also promised to make a donation herself, noting that it would be her first donation of this election season. “I haven’t actually donated to any candidates this election season, so you’ll be the first one I’m donating to actually this season,” she revealed.

Mace appeared thrilled to hear this. “Really? Oh, my gosh, what a huge honor,” she gushed. “That’s awesome.”

Mace also heaped praise on Loomer, thanking her for her work and calling her a “patriot.”

“I wanted to say thank you and — thank you for all that you’re doing,” she declared. “I know that you work very hard for the America First movement, for MAGA. But also for our nation. You’re such a patriot, exposing what’s going on, exposing all these NGOs.”

Mace told Loomer that she was “fascinated” by her recent trip to the Darién Gap, and “logged on every day” to see her “updates” from the region. When Loomer offered to send information to Nancy Mace on NGOs like HIAS — a Jewish group that assists refugees — Mace was receptive.

“There needs to be an investigation,” she told Loomer. “I would love to be helpful and be supportive and even educate people, because they just have no idea how we are funding our own invasion. And it’s crazy, but this is — we’re funding terrorism. I mean, literally Joe Biden wants to give millions of dollars to Iran.”
