In a Zoom meeting, white supremacists Nick Fuentes and Richard Spencer credited X owner Elon Musk for rolling out changes to the platform which amplified their ideas. In the video, posted to Rumble on Nov. 30, 2023, Fuentes said that, since Musk acquired Twitter (now X), the “window has shifted noticeably on issues like white identity.”

During a discussion on the shifting attitudes toward Israel and Zionism, Mark Brahmin, a white supremacist also present in the meeting, stated that “Musk has played a huge role in the present dynamic.” Musk has reinstated the accounts of white supremacists and interacted with white supremacists and antisemites on X.

Brahmin said that Musk “totally changed the climate in a kind of singlehanded way,” even though people like white supremacist Jared Taylor, antisemitic author Kevin MacDonald, and others are still banned. (Nick Fuentes’ original account is currently banned, but he has maintained a presence on X for months under a pseudonym.)

“Now, we can have our criticisms of Musk — definitely imperfect, or whatever the case might be — but I think he’s created a climate that’s made this very — has really put Jews and the Israel lobby in a kind of precarious position, essentially,” Brahmin said.

Both Spencer and Fuentes agreed.

“And I think it’s pretty clear, like you said with Musk, almost immediately — it’s only been a year since Musk acquired Twitter, which is not really a long time. And the changes didn’t even begin to roll out until less than a year ago,” Fuentes said. “And yet the change has been dramatic. How much the window has shifted noticeably on issues like white identity, which apparently is suddenly mainstream.”

“It wasn’t for a long time,” he continued. “It seemed like Charlie Kirk said one or two things about it last year. And then this year, now everyone’s a white nationalist. Now everyone’s a white identitarian. Maybe not fully, but certainly it’s far more acceptable in the conversation — even the word white — than it was years ago.”

Fuentes added that “the same thing is true for critique of Jewish power, things like [the hashtag] ‘Ban the ADL’ and talking about the genocide in Gaza. Or any other number of things. … You open up one of the social platforms — it’s so hot, it’s so fast. It changes public opinion virtually overnight, and really in our favor.”

Spencer also noted Musk’s interactions with antisemitic users on X, pointing out that he had recently endorsed a conspiracy theory blaming Jews for “flooding their country” with “hordes of minorities.”

“Yeah, look, he said ‘absolutely correct’ to a somewhat random right-wing Twitter user who basically gave a Kevin MacDonald argument,” Spencer recalled, referencing an antisemitic retired professor who argued that Jews are genetically predisposed to destroying majority-white nations. “I have to say that’s remarkable,” he said.

Brahmin, Spencer, and Fuentes also praised Musk for lashing out at advertisers who’ve fled the platform, telling them “Go fuck yourself” in a televised interview.
